Qantas Passengers Affected By Qantas Withdrawal of Sydney-Beijing (QF107/108) services in March 2020

Qantas will cease operating services to and from Beijing (QF107 and QF108) for travel commencing in March 2020 due to stiff competition from Chinese airlines and weak business class demand. It will maintain daily flights from Sydney to Shanghai, where it partners with hub carrier China Eastern Airlines.

Expedition Exclusive will contact our affected passengers and assist them with an alternative option.

Golden Week in China

Golden Week in China

Golden Week is coming up soon. It is a 2 weeks long holiday in China that happens around 1st of October, the National Day where factories, warehouses and offices give annual leaves to their staff member. Since most employers give the leaves around that the same time, China becomes crowded with people on the street trying to get back home to see their family. The transportation and accommodation prices go up drastically during Golden Week.

Nevertheless, if you would like to experience the peak crowdedness in China and the lifestyle, this is a good chance.

Protests in Hong Kong

Protests in Hong Kong

Protests in Hong Kong continue and are less predictable. Violent confrontations have taken place between police and protesters across Hong Kong, including at the Mass Transit Rail (MTR) stations and International Airport. Temporary enhanced airport access controls continue to be enforced. Further disruption to airport and other transport links is possible. Allow more time to check-in. There are media reports of enhanced screening procedures by mainland border authorities of travellers to and from Hong Kong. Be alert. Avoid large gatherings and demonstrations.
