Golden Week is coming up soon. It is a 2 weeks long holiday in China that happens around 1st of October, the National Day where factories, warehouses and offices give annual leaves to their staff member. Since most employers give the leaves around that the same time, China becomes crowded with people on the street trying to get back home to see their family. The transportation and accommodation prices go up drastically during Golden Week.
Nevertheless, if you would like to experience the peak crowdedness in China and the lifestyle, this is a good chance.

Protests in Hong Kong continue and are less predictable. Violent confrontations have taken place between police and protesters across Hong Kong, including at the Mass Transit Rail (MTR) stations and International Airport. Temporary enhanced airport access controls continue to be enforced. Further disruption to airport and other transport links is possible. Allow more time to check-in. There are media reports of enhanced screening procedures by mainland border authorities of travellers to and from Hong Kong. Be alert. Avoid large gatherings and demonstrations.

Travelling with young children is not an easy thing, especially your destination is far away from home.
Below are some important notes you should be aware of:
1. Travel insurance
Accidents and unexpected incidents can happen to anyone and the additional expenses could be very high. The Australian government will not pay your medical bills for you.
It's very essential that you should take out travel insurance for yourself and your family before heading overseas.
2. Luggage
3. Heath and vaccination
Visit your doctor or travel clinic at least eight weeks before you depart to discuss any health issues and any destination-specific vaccination requirements for you and your family.
If your child takes medication, confirm that it is legal in the country you are going to by checking the travel advice and contacting the high commission, embassy or consulate of that country.
