The city is the gateway to Nepal Tourism and the centre of the country's economy. Its history dates back to over 2000 years ago and it was on the ancient trade route between India and Tibet which caused a fusion of artistic and architectural traditions of other cultures that can be witnessed even today.

Chitwan National Park: One of the UNESCO Natural Heritage Site declared in 1979 located in the Chitwan district of Nepal is known as Chitwan National Park.
