Day 01 | Tokyo

Arrive at Tokyo Airport (either Narita or Haneda airport). Upon arrival, you will be met by a tour representative and transferred to the hotel.

Day 02 | Tokyo

Enjoy a free day to explore the vibrant metropolis of Tokyo. Alternatively, you may choose to join an optional tour to see some of the highlights Tokyo has to offer.

Tokyo Sightseeing Tour
First, you will visit Toyosu Market, where you can encounter many kinds of traditional Japanese cuisine. Followed by a visit to the stunning Meiji Shrine - a Shinto religious site that was dedicated to the Imperial Family in 1926. Walk among the serene gardens that surround the shrine as you listen to more details about its importance from your guide. Enjoy the sweeping views of this vast city at the Observations deck
at the famous Tokyo Tower, the landmark of Tokyo. Last, experience bustling Japan by visiting Ginza Tokyu Plaza located in the Ginza area.


DAY 03 | Tokyo to Hamamatsu

After breakfast, we will drive to Mt. Fuji's 5th Station, located 2,300m above sea level, and it offers a vantage point for Mt. Fuji and the surrounding lakes. The 5th Station also features shrines, torii gates and souvenir shops. Afterwards continue onwards to Oshino Hakkai, a small village in the Fuji Five Lake region, to admire the distinctive Japanese countryside scenery. Next, visit Peace Park, where is the ideal place to view Mt. Fuji from afar.
Please note: in case the access to Mt. Fuji 5th Station is restricted due to the bad weather, we will replace it with Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre.

Day 04 | Hamamatsu to Kyoto

Today you will travel to Kyoto, once the capital of Japan, is the cultural and historical heart of the country. On the way, you will have a stop at the local Japanese jewellery shop. Japan has a long beautiful history of art ranging from song and dance to fine pieces of jewellery and accessories. Don't miss this opportunity of exploring the old and the new jewellery and accessories that you can purchase to bring back home and jazz up your wardrobe. The tour continues with a visit to Kinkaku-ji, literally means Golden Pavilion, a significant Zen temple of Kyoto. Different from typical Japanese architecture, which is in favour of modesty and moderation, the exterior of Kinkaku-ji is covered with gold foil. Move on to Gion, an entertainment district, particularly famous for geisha performance. With lovingly preserved scenes, Gion is an ideal place for visitors tracing past times. You might run into geishas passing by while strolling along Hanami Lane at dusk.

Day 05 | Kyoto

Enjoy a free day to explore the ancient capital on your own pace, or take the opportunity to join an optional tour of Kyoto.

Kyoto Sightseeing Tour
The tour includes the visit to Fushimi Inari Taisha, the head of all these roughly 9000 Inari shrines. The imposing Senbo Torri tells the shrine's popularity among worshippers praying for a good harvest and prosperous business. Then proceed to Arashiyama, the most scenic area of Kyoto. Dubbed as the Best Scenery of Kyoto, much of its fame owns to the blooming cherry blossoms in springtime and vibrant maple leaves in autumn. Walk across Togetsukyo Bridge straddling Katsura River, and stroll along a living emerald-green tunnel - Arashiyama Bamboo Grove.


Day 06 | Kyoto to Osaka

This morning depart Kyoto for Osaka and proceed to Nara Park. At here you will have the opportunity of interacting with free-roaming tame deer, believed to be sacred messengers of the Shinto gods. Followed by a visit to Kasuga Taisha Shrine, Nara's most celebrated shrine. Next, your journey continues to Osaka Castle Park (no admission to the Castle), the majestic urban oasis offers colourful and stunning scenery at different seasons. The last stop of the tour is the famous Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori Food Street, the largest shopping district in Osaka. You will have the opportunity to visit the local duty-free shop and get your souvenirs checklist ticked. With countless stores from high-end retailers to the familiar high street shops, there is something for every shopper and every wallet on this street. There are also dozens of delicious restaurants and cafes hidden in the streets and the alleys leading just off it.

Day 07 | Osaka

Today transfer to the airport for your return flight back to Australia.

DAY 08 | Australia

Arrive home.

  • A very good level of fitness and mobility is required for you to enjoy all aspects of the itinerary, as this is considered a fast-paced tour. While there is some free time scheduled either in the morning or afternoon, there are many full days of sightseeing with minimal rest and some early starts. You will be required to walk up and down stairs, get on and off the coach and participate in all scheduled sightseeing that may be conducted on uneven ground and terrain. Any physical ailments you may have must be disclosed at the time of booking to determine your suitability. If you have any form of walking aids, other than a walking stick or hiking poles, then this tour is not suitable.
